Behavior Support and Training

This method of treatment is focused on teaching you, the caregiver, how to meet your loved one's needs. This services is ideal for clients who cannot commit to, or do not need, the high amount of direct therapy that most Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) companies require. This is also an ideal services for clients who are or on wait lists for direct ABA services but want support immediately. If you are on another waitlist for direct ABA therapy, we will happily help you transition to your chosen provider once a spot opens up. 

We use a person-centered, trauma informed, and assent based approach to teach parents, teachers, and other caregivers to be leaders in their loved one's treatment. Evidence based practices are used to reduce problem behavior and teach skills such as communication, coping strategies, social skills, independence, etc. We will work with you to create goals and collect ongoing data to ensure that progress is being made.  This service can be done virtually or in person. Some direct work may be done with the client; however, the focus of this service is on educating and supporting the caregiver. Caregiver support and training always begins with a Functional Behavior Analysis (FBA). For more information on this process, see our assessments page.

Insurance:

In VA, insurance options are available for individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. If you are seeking an ASD diagnosis, please see our information regarding autism testing.
