An FBA is an evaluation of behavior. We interview caregivers, observe the client, and collect data to determine the likely reasons that each challenging behavior is occurring. We then identify interventions and replacement behaviors, so that the client is able to meet their needs in a healthier, safer, and more appropriate way. The FBA serves as a starting point for effective treatment and is used to guide caregivers and providers. FBAs are the first step in our behavior support and parent training services but can also be offered on their own for clients who are not seeking ongoing support. Our FBA option is often helpful in schools, daycares, and other therapies where challenging behavior exists but specific behavioral therapy is not occurring.
